Some of the UK’s top names have joined the GFG Advisory Board this month … a move that will strengthen yet further the connection between members.
That’s because Good Florist Guide is so much more than just a decal, certificate or branded marketing material. Yes it may be considered the Michelin Star of Floristry by some and yes there is a criteria for membership but being a GFG’er is also about sharing, caring and supporting each other. Because whilst the membership of GFG is totally different in terms of size, style and staffing levels the ethos is the same; that of helping each other be better, stronger, braver and in these uncertain times, survivors.
The new Advisors, Karen Lindsay, the 2019 Retail Florist of the Year and owner of Karen’s of Kilmarnock, Morgan Douglas Nuth, an ambassador for Floral Fundamentals and owner of Old Oak Design in Ascot and Ealing and Ian Lloyd NDSF, a past President of The Society of Floristry and owner of Ian Llloyd Events, one of Cheshire’s most prestigious shops and wedding florists. The new team will join Karen Massey (Fleurtatious Florist, Dublin), Pip Holley (Willow Floristry, Verwood) Sian Wild (Flower Lounge, Didsbury) Lesley Nash (Jenniefleurs, Colchester) and Nikki Meader (West Malling Flowers, Kent) who were the first panel members. Together they will work with Project Manager Joanna Eagelton to make sure that Good Florist Guide not only continues to focus on helping the membership but grow and expand its numbers to create an even stronger family.
Commenting on their new roles Karen said; “I love being part of GFG … not only has it opened the doors to so many opportunities but created the most amazing friendships. I am incredibly excited to be part of the team and help introduce new ideas and benefits for the members.” Morgan told us: “GFG is special because it is both independent and professional. It doesn’t try to compete with other organisations but instead focuses on connecting the members in a way they can help each other; be it practical solutions, suppliers or inspiration.”
For Ian Lloyd the strict membership criteria is crucial. “Having attended both the Good Florist Events and now the Zoom Rooms I know that not only am I talking with people on the same wavelength but that there will always be a new idea that we can share or adapt to our own shops.”
Membership to GFG is open to all florists but is by invitation or nomination only …. you can’t just buy your way in. If you want to join a business focussed and professional group of likeminded florists email hello@goodfloristguide.com for an information pack.
